Gary Evans
CFO
I understand the emotional impact of providing in home care. My mother had a stroke 10 years ago and needed care. She wanted to live at home, the place where she was born and raised in Southern Virginia, but we were not able to find care providers to serve during the hours we needed. So, she lived in a very nice assisted living facility nearby. Every month when I would drive down from DC to visit her, I would take her to the country church on Sunday and to the homestead to “hang out”. When it was time to take her back, she cried every time. We hired a care provider to come in to the assisted living facility to sit with her each day, and take her out for drives, and to the homestead. But it just wasn’t the same as living at home. Eventually, she declined to the point that she needed to move into a Nursing Home for the last year of her life. So, I get it, in my heart. For so many people, like my mother, their dream is to live out their lives in the comfort of their home.
I worked for the Palm Beach Post for many years and then joined USA TODAY near Washington, DC in 1999 to be nearer my mother as my father died that year. Now, I am back in South Florida, and I bought this business to help others do what I was not able to do – provide in-home care providers to those who need it. The staff is excellent and has many years of experience in home care and we are committed to serving our patients, and their families.
