December 4-10 is National Handwashing Awareness Week
Just like Momma always said, wash your hands!
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the most important thing you can do to keep from getting sick is wash your hands. Throughout the day, you accumulate germs on your hands from touching different objects or people. You can then infect yourself with these germs by touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.
Always remember to wash your hands:
- Before and after eating
- When preparing food
- After using the restroom
- When you are in contact with someone who is ill
- After touching pets or other animals
- After sneezing, coughing, blowing your nose
